YOU ARE INVITED
to our first
Committee of the Whole Luncheon Meeting

Your Reunion Committee has decided to have lunch the last week or so of June, well, just because. It occurred to us that some of you might like to join us - informal, Dutch treat - just to get together and visit and maybe talk about having low-key, pre-planned lunches every six months or so rather than those wonderful, fancy, work-intensive reunions every two years. Don't know about you, but we seem to be doing more sittin' and sassin' than movin' and shakin' lately, but we still feel a need to "catch up" with you all, so we're looking for a way to continue the visiting without all that hard work! It also occurs to us, at our age and with some mobility issues here and there, that upping the frequency and simplifying the process would be the right move.
We'll start this process with the attached survey, which asks about your interest in attending a Committee of the Whole meeting during the last week of June and your preferred date during that week. We understand that the end of June seems soon, but we also understand that long-term planning is hard to do at our age.
Please respond by 6/1. If you can't attend but have something to say about this, there is space on the survey to share.
Please participate in the survey even if you can't make it to the June Committee of the Whole Luncheon. It would be helpful, as we look at alternatives, to know whether you believe travel is out for you but would still like to be included in these events somehow.
DON'T FORGET TO CLICK UPDATE MY SURVEY AFTER YOU FINISH ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS ON THE SURVEY BELOW.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Leahray, Betty, Gale and Lynette

AS TIME GOES BY
As time goes by, change happens. Some of those changes, if known by our classmates, will elicit a little prayer, a note, a phone call or text, or just a fond thought. Oftentimes, none of the "old gang" hears about these changes until years later. We would like to fix that.
We are placing greater emphasis on posting to the Message Forum. For clarity, we've changed the name to Family & Friend News. We encourage you to post to this Forum when you have news about classmates' families, friends who were in another class, or personal news you want to share. Our intent is to give you the ability to let the class know of situations where extending thoughts and prayers might be helpful to our lifelong friends.
This is not a rumor board. Please use discretion when discussing another person's personal business. Once you post, an email will be sent to all classmates notifying them of a new post.
We hope you find this new emphasis helpful.

Remember this scene from your Senior year at DHS
during the cold winter months of December or January?
.jpg)
Jerry Lummus found this in his "memory box" and sent it along, reporting, "From the number of cars shown in the shot, it was most likely taken on a Friday or Saturday night. We all know, of course, there's no going home again, but this one sure made me stop and rummage around in the memories for a few minutes. It underlines once again how lucky we are to have our little hometown in our lives."
Agreed.
You now have the opportunity to share more of those memories with your classmates in person! Don't miss the May 3 festivities! The Spring Fling is no cost, no reservation. Just show up and enjoy your friends. The Class of '62 Dinner details are being finalized.
In the meantime, enjoy those memories and remember, sharing them always brings smiles, laughter, and a few tall tales!
Hope to see you May 3!
